This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Students at my school are critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and think outside the box. They are preparing for college and participates in internships and community service projects to ensure for them to be better citizens in the world we live in today.

My Project

When students enter the library the rugs, we have currently are old and worn out. My first initiative to create a fun library environment is by purchasing new rugs. Students lounge or sit on the rugs when studying or reading a book, and a new rug would be greatly beneficial to the library environment. I did a student survey on what they would like to change about the library and a new rug was one of the items that they would like to change. By having this project funded students will feel like they participated in an effort to create a positive library environment.
