My Students

My class is a group of people who love science! We engage in hands-on, observation-based projects. We like to get our hands dirty (sometimes literally) and dive in to science. Our 5th Grade teacher team likes to collaborate on science, and has won awards for our planning and teamwork with regards to science.

My students are becoming excited about science!

My students are diverse. We have students from multiple backgrounds and socio-economic classes. They are bright, brilliant, and ready to be tomorrow's leaders!

My Project

These items will aid in the students' study of electricity. The Snaptricity circuits will allow students to see and build electronic circuits. Students are expected to know the parts of a closed circuit, and these show a closed circuit system really well. The Styrofoam plates will aid in a lightning lab. Students are required to know the cause of lightning and this lab illustrates the cause and direction of lightning. The nails will help students build compasses. This has always been one of my students' favorite labs, and not only helps study electricity, but magnetism too. Students will be very engaged in their study of electricity.
