Our classroom is a safe place for students to come and know that no matter what is going on in their life, we will make them feel welcomed and accepted by everyone. The class is a mix of general education students, special education students, and students in need of Academic Intervention Services (AIS). These students come from a variety of economic backgrounds which means that the students come to us at many different levels.
Our classroom design and learning experiences help students develop tolerance for people from all walks of life.
Creating a comfortable learning environment and providing many different types of learning experiences contribute to the success of our students.
Currently in my classroom, my students hang their coat and backpack on a hook. The hooks break easily and are close together so it makes it difficult to hang both a coat and backpack without either falling down throughout the day. We are constantly picking up these items to prevent them from getting dirty and damaged.
I want to give my students a designated space for their personal belongings and also help maximize our learning environment.
Having lockers for my students will open up more room in the classroom since many coats and backpacks spend the day on the floor. Your donation will impact many more than 50 students as these lockers will last for many years.
