My Students

My classroom is always buzzing! We are a very busy first grade class as we are always exploring and experimenting to answer inquiry based questions. I am hoping to add some great new features to my classroom to make learning even more exciting and flexible for all of my students!

As an engineering school for children, all of my students are scientists!

They are curious, and have a strong desire to answer their questions through the engineering process and experimentation.

They think deeply about problems and are great problem solvers who work together. They have a great sense of community among their peers, both older and younger. They truly are the vision of the future!

My Project

The carpet that we are currently using in the classroom has become very worn down and is beginning to fall apart. My students need a new carpet in the classroom so that they may have a place to sit during whole group instruction.

With individual carpet squares, the students will each have enough space to keep their own body comfortable and safe.

They will be able to engage in the lesson and with other peers without being squished on a smaller carpet, and won't have to worry about their particular carpet spot falling apart as the year goes on.

Both my students and I would greatly appreciate a new carpet for our classroom. One that is sturdy, big enough to have space for all of my students and volunteers, and functional for all different kinds of uses!
