I have 9 students who have Autism, most also have ADHD. They struggle with attention, focus, task completion, and self esteem.
They are so eager to learn and try new things but the symptoms of ADHD hinder their success.
We take frequent sensory breaks to regroup and focus on the tasks at hand but our goal is more independent work, for longer periods of time.
These 2nd graders love school and learning, but they need support and tools to continue to grow and thrive.
My Project
This table is absolutely perfect for my students. These were most likely built with my kids in mind. 2nd graders in general have problems with personal space and boundaries, that coupled with autism and or ADHD, can create some less than harmonic table time. My students struggle with being organized and keeping their items in their area, and other students being in their personal space. This table is the solution to both. The cut out areas are clearly defined for each student, boundaries are clear and the space for each child is the same. My students and my assistants will love these tables!
