A Solid Surface to Bridge the Gap
My students need a Microsoft Surface Pro.
In schools, students take math courses on one track and science courses on another. This makes students poorly prepared for the type of problem solving in high school science courses. Half of the students will be lost in the sciences, while the other half will struggle to remain.
I live in an area of Tennessee where the poverty level is pretty high.
Even with the poverty level where it is, only a few students have smart phones or tablets that they can bring to school with them. However, most of my students do not have this luxury.
The only technology that I have in my classroom is a Promethean board. My students get very bored and disengaged listening to me ramble on. In Bridge Math, students need the use of technology to make use of the problem solving skills needed in chemistry and physics. With the use of the Microsoft Surface, my students will be able to learn the ins and outs of using technology to communicate information, make presentations, and find information they need to solve problems. We will be using the Microsoft Surface in many ways such as interactive lessons on the Promethean board, online research and projects.
The skills learned in Bridge Math can make all the difference in a graduate's professional advancement and decision-making abilities.
By donating to this project, you will be helping my students excel in class and in their future!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
