I have 20 very active kindergarteners! My class is currently made up of 9 girls and 11 boys. Half of my students come from low-income households. These numbers a typical from year to year. Our class theme is frogs!
Kindergarteners learn best through exploration, discovery, movement, and play.
I love to find ways to teach my students in a way that is fun for them. We dance, sing, and create every day all while learning to read, write, do math and be friends.
My students would enjoy a soft rug that has a spot for each to sit on. This would be used not only for learning times but rest time as well. Students will be able to have an assigned spot for any activity we are working on.
Kindergarteners spend a lot of learning time on the floor!
They often take their activities to the floor so that they can spread out and not be in each other's way. Our learning centers are differentiated to meet the needs of each student, so there are often a lot of activities going on at once! A rug such as this, with divided spaces, will help with the organization of these activities.
