My Students

My second graders are as diverse as they can be! They come to me with a range of abilities and background knowledge, support and experiences, but they all have one thing in common: they love to learn!

They are optimistic, bright, and happy kids who deserve everything we can give them.

They need a comfortable, welcoming classroom that encourages a love of reading and writing.

Students in my school come from all different needs ranging from autism to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to gifted learners.

My Project

This project will buy a couch, comfortable seats and pillows that students will use throughout their day. Students can choose to read or write around the room by themselves or with a buddy. They can spread out and get comfortable so their focus is on meeting their goals and not on their hard classroom chairs. Since the pillows and seats can be moved around the room, students can set up their work space to meet their needs and will not be confined to a table.

The pillows and bean bags we are currently using are falling apart and leave stuffing all over the room.

They just aren't comfortable any more.
