My Students

Our classroom is a safe place for students to come and know that no matter what is going on in their life, we will make them feel welcomed and accepted by everyone. The class is a mix of general education students, special education students, and students in need of Academic Intervention Services (AIS). These students come from a variety of economic backgrounds which means that the students come to us at many different levels.

Our classroom design and learning experiences help students develop tolerance for people from all walks of life.

Creating a comfortable learning environment and providing many different types of learning experiences contribute to the success of our students.

My Project

Spending hours a day in the same seat would be difficult for anyone. In my classroom, I like to provide seating options for my students. In addition to classroom chairs, I have yoga balls, stools, and buckets with cushions. The addition of a Yogibo pod blue bean bag would add another choice for my students.

Providing many seating options for students will give them the opportunity to choose which type will help them focus during lessons.

As adults, we are usually lucky enough to have cushioned chairs to sit in, imagine having to sit in a hard chair all day long! When students are provided choices in the classroom it helps them to meet their own needs so that learning can be their priority. Join me in creating a comfortable learning environment for my students!
