This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a functional academics classroom. We are a special education self-contained classroom. We are in a Title I school with a rich diversity in culture and backgrounds.

We have students with intellectual disabilities that place them several grade levels below their peers.

Each student in our classroom has an Individual Education Plan or IEP. This means that each student is receiving a tailored education, allowing them to reach their highest potential. We work hard every day to provide an engaging learning environment.

My Project

When you give a child praise for doing something right or correct, he or she gains confidence that the future will bring continued success. Praised children may second-guess themselves less and rely more on their own capabilities.

Positive reinforcement can motivate students to do better and keep striving to achieve their goals.

When learning a new skill positive reinforcement can keep a child motivated and committed to the task. Many people may still question whether positive reinforcement works, the short answer is yes it does, when used correctly and in balance with other methods of positive behavior management. The Popits, erasers and other materials in this project are going to help us provide a fun opportunity for positive reinforcement as students work towards achieving there Social emotional goals!
