My students are very diverse. I am in a special education teacher in an inclusion classroom setting with 12 students. There are some 2nd and 3rd grade students. Most of them are either Spanish or African American. Our school is a wonderful place to work at and the students enjoy being here! This is a high urban poverty location inside of the projects and is in need of any help given to the students. Our classroom community is diverse in many different aspects, while having a variety of needs.
Snacks are an integral component to the afternoon life in school. My students have lunch at 10:15 am, and these snacks will kept them alert, motivated and energized to continue learning throughout the day.
Snacks to help my students stay up during the rest of the school day are needed.
Most of my students do not bring in a daily snack and get hungry especially in the afternoon. Your donations of cookies, fruit snacks, crackers and juice and water will provide the opportunity for each student to receive a snack on a daily basis. These snacks will help the students maintain their energy and keep them alert and ready to learn throughout the rest of the day. Providing appropriate nutrition will also increase brain functioning to process critical information in each and every subject at school.
