I teach fifth grade language arts and social studies. I love my kiddos and am passionate about helping them develop their reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills, while instilling in them a life-long love of learning.
My students are enthusiastic learners and voracious readers and writers of multiple genres.

My Project
I'm looking to provide my students with a variety of flexible seating options to help improve focus and engagement in our language arts/social studies classroom. My students are voracious readers and writers of multiple genres and would benefit from more comfortable seating options for increased learning in our classroom.
A few benefits of flexible seating include increased student achievement, improved physical health, feeling of empowerment as a result of student choice, increased sense of community and collaboration, as well as a greater commitment to learning.
Adding alternative seating options such as couches, comfortable chairs and tables are just a few examples of the items I would like to add to our classroom to achieve this.
