Mrs. Dahl from Erie PA is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these tools to cut things in the classroom that are too challenging for regular scissors. These will also have a dual purpose and be used in our courtyard garden to prune plants.

My students are eager, urban middle school STEM students. I teach in a very diverse school with students who are very passionate about STEM education. The students in my STEM classes are creative and hard working. Most of the students in my classes will be first generation college students and many plan to pursue careers in STEM fields, many of who aspire to be engineers. STEM resources are essential to enhancing these students’ curiosity and creativity. Providing hands-on classroom experiences gives my students the skills needed to be the best in their classes moving forward to high school, college, and beyond.
Students love coming to my STEM lab class because we have the nicest tools in the school. Donations from Donors Choose have made my classroom a true maker-space. Students learn STEM through communication, collaboration, and critical thinking because they have the tools they need to be CREATIVE thanks to very generation donors. Students will be using these sheers to help maintain our school garden area and to cut cardboard and bamboo sticks for building in STEM class. The bamboo sticks will be used in our Tower building challenge. Students engage in the engineering design process to develop the lightest weight tower that can support the greatest load.
