Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom is centered around the idea that, "everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." We work to be the Science Genius of the Day. A Science Genius is a student who works hard, perseveres, and has strong teamwork skills.

All of my students are working to be Science Geniuses and they love it.

Throughout the class, they are working on vocabulary fluency, critical thinking skills, assessing and analyzing evidence, writing lab reports and launching themselves into a future in Science or another STEM related field. We can all be Science Geniuses, and my students work hard for it every day. Now that we're all geniuses, we want to experience science for ourselves!

My Project

Help my students start off the school year with materials and supplies they need to participate in class! With a lack of classroom budget, these materials would all come out of my personal paycheck, and I want to be able to give my students everything they need to succeed!

My students need pencils, markers, and colored pencils to be able to actively participate in class and in projects and activities during the school year.

These materials will give my students the basic supplies needed to complete all classroom projects and activities. With your help, no pencil or markers will never be a reason a student can't participate in a classroom activity.
