Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This is a new school year at a brand new school. These students are caring, eager to learn, and energetic. I love to see their lovely faces first thing in the morning. My students come each day with high hopes for the future. I teach them that "no one person" is their own island and they understand that all can come to the table with something. "Sharing is caring" is what they will learn

Many of our students are bused and are from various backgrounds.

They are survivors. My students are on a path of discovery and it will be with a new innovative idea like "A Shared Classroom" that will set the wheel in motion.

My Project

Students of the 21st century are not like we were. I want my next photo to show how my students are feeling on a daily basis. They are rambunctious, technology driven, and inquisitive. They do not stand by and get spoon fed information like in the past. They do not just sit at their desk and learn!!

Floor seating offers them a different opportunity to get comfortable and dig into their assignments.

My students sit on the desk or rock in their video chairs while learning. The floor chairs will make a wonderful and complete addition to our already shared/flexible seating classroom. These child friendly seats offer support for their backs as they listen on the computer, read a book, or answer questions while writing on a clip board.
