My 4th-grade students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Truly, they are my inspiration!
Our school is unique not only because we are nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest but we are also a k-12 Title I school.
Being in a small rural area, many of our students come from single-parent homes or live with grandparents and often struggle to provide not only supplies but also opportunities and culturally rich experiences for their kids.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of learners that are excited and ready to learn.
My Project
My school recently switched to 100% virtual learning. As of now it is only supposed to be temporary however, even if we return to face to face learning I still have a handful of students that were previously learning remotely. I am looking to get a second monitor so I can keep my Google Meet on one screen and see my students and the lessons I am presenting on another screen.
Without a second monitor I have to switch back and forth between tabs and this makes it difficult to see all my students when presenting the lessons.
Having a second monitor will create an easier transition to virtual teaching, which in return, creates a better learning experience for my students.
