My elementary school classroom is about effort, motivation, and persistence! Students will spend a rigorous year reading and writing at an advanced level.
The students are 4th graders in an enriched studies program.
They are excited to read a variety of high level literary works and write responses and essays as well as to expand their capacity for critical thinking. This requires a lot of time on task! My students need to be comfortable and to be able to choose how they work best in order to do their best. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to take on the challenge of an advanced curriculum for the sake of learning!
My Project
These Balance Balls are needed to provide comfortable seating to young students who spend the majority of their day in a seat. Giving students options for seating provides them the ability to make decisions for themselves for how they work best.
My students need flexible seating to meet the needs of the diverse students in the class.
Students in the class have special needs and require movement during work time. Many others need to wiggle and fidget to maintain attention to task. Some need to be seated so that they are high above their work surface and some need to be seated right at their work surface. All need to have a seat where they will be able to learn to their full potential.
