Help me give my students a seat for everyone. Large class sizes this year mean more table space is needed. Our class needs another table to give every student a proper working and learning space.
My classroom is filled with eleven and twelve-year-old students from a small, rural community. These students have higher level ACE scores and have typically experienced some level of trauma that has negatively affected their personal and academic lives. Even though my students face many challenges, they come to school and do their best to find success.
Our school district's motto is to develop life-long learners.
Our school serves 6-8th-grade students, and according to state proficiency tests, a small percentage of these students are proficient in mathematics and language arts.
My Project
Students learn by talking with their classmates and thinking through their learning processes. Being able to turn and talk to a partner (pair-share) and collaborate with a larger group allow students to process and take ownership of their own learning.
Help, my class is full of students this year, and we need more tables so every student has enough work space.
Currently, some students are sharing or have buddied up. The addition of a 48 inch table will allow students to spread out and have their own work space.
This project is for two new tables to meet the needs of a large class size. Students need a fully functioning working space to do their classwork. Please consider helping my classroom. Thank you.
