My Students

I teach in a low-income rural school, and my students come from extremely diverse backgrounds. While this is sometimes challenging, it ultimately makes for a richer learning experience. I'd like to be able to provide a place for them to be creative and explore rather than just a place to bide their time.

I'd love to show them the learning experience that they so deeply deserve.

Part of that experience involves making my classroom a place they truly want to be. When we have engaging and exciting classrooms, school becomes a place of opportunity rather than an institution.

My Project

Global Studies is a new exploratory class at WCMS, and we're hoping to be fully collaborative - a true classroom of the future. We need your help to make this the best possible learning environment!

To serve 21st century students, we need a 21st century classroom!

Allowing the kids to have multiple seating options, freedom to roam a little bit, and the ability to sit or stand while working minimizes negative classroom behaviors and allows easy flow from station to station.
