My class comprises of 20 diverse and energetic 4 and 5 year old students who are excited about learning. My students are unique, creative, compassionate, and caring. They love to learn by using manipulatives in group time and in centers.
Each of my students amazes me as I watch them be successful at each task they do, either at play or during work time.
My school serves a community of diverse students, creating opportunities for every student to reach their full potential in innovative and student lead practices. My school district serves a large Burmese population.
Each of my students loves to learn. We provide an individual approach to each student's learning focusing on their learning styles ensuing they are successful on their learning path. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to teach and learn with my students.
My Project
The writing center in my classroom serves as a wonderful focus area for my students to gain skills in writing, doodling, and drawing. By supplying these tools, my students will be engaged allowing for fine motor skills and emergent writing skills to be developed, to be able to make the connection that print is all around them, and to provide a wonderful place for them to be creative. My students love the writing center, they are excited about what they create and can't wait to share their work with their families.
With these new additions to the writing center, my students will be able to choose from a variety of tools allowing them to develop pre-writing and drawing skills and to communicate their ideas through drawing and through print.
As my students write and create, they will see themselves as true authors and illustrators, reinforcing the vocabulary we use in the classroom. They will develop skills that will enable them to be successful and prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
