This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I New York City Public School. They are a very unique bunch of first graders who are eager to learn. These first graders are in a side by side dual-language program where they are learning in both French and English. My amazing partner and I work side by side in order to prepare these kiddos for a lifetime of success! These students are always up for a challenge, and as an educator, I am always looking for new ways to involve my students in active learning and ensure they are engaged at all times!
My Project
My students are extremely visual learners! Having ink for our printer means having colorful charts, checklists, and activities to learn from! It also means more time for the teacher to plan small group instruction and fun activities for the day because she doesn't have to wait in line for a community printer!
I am creating this project in order for my students to have color quality centers, and special resources around the room such as visual resources to support my English Language Learners, or basics like their sound poems for the week and math homework.
Receiving ink cartridges for my classroom will be very beneficial to my students in order to have access to the material they need to be successful scholars.
Rather than having to print from home or at a community printer, I can print from the comfort of my classroom!
