My students at Brewerton are extremely talented. I’ve only worked with my students for a short time, and already I’ve noticed how much the enjoy music and grow to perform quickly.
Students at my school are very involved in their school community and in extra curricular activities.
They care about other students and are excited to work in groups. This enthusiasm helps me as a teacher, to see that they need opportunities to create and perform together. Quality materials will help them improve their skills.
Students in kindergarten and first grade will be introduced to movement for listening to music. It helps students to feel what they fear and to express what they may not be able to say in words.
We are also ready to use new instruments made of wood and metal.
The difference in materials helps us use our listening skills to identify the types of sounds we are hearing when we perform on the instruments.
Even as young as first grade we write our own music and kindergarten can improvise rhtyms whike they sing or listen to songs. New instruments are always motivating to young students.
