My Students

My students come from different backgrounds. However, most of them are from low-income families. We are a public school that takes in students through a lottery system and we end up with an eclectic mix of social and economic students.

My students work hard to succeed; however, like most teenagers, they need to be encouraged and motivated.

They try to bring as many supplies as they can; still, sometimes it is not enough to meet their needs. My students are like the typical teenagers; they are self-conscious and afraid to ​participate so this will give them an opportunity to show that they can work.

My Project

I have found myself using a lot of paper in the classroom and many times it has been a waste. I feel horrible every time I throw it away. Having a scanner will help me teach my students that saving paper will save some trees and it will make a difference in the world. No matter how small; if everyone puts in their little grain of effort, it will eventually pay off. My students will be able to see their tasks and follow directions without using actual paper. They will not have the excuse that they lost their homework because they will have access through their internet.
