My Students

Our students are dedicated to each other and driven to better themselves musically and personally. They have an incredible understanding of the "bigger picture" and do a wonderful job of taking care of the equipment that we use every day, especially when the best opportunities are given to them to do so. These students are part of a well-respected band program that has a great amount of community support.

We are in a transitional period in our program, and we are looking to use that as an opportunity for growth.

My Project

Our band program is growing its collection of trumpet and trombone mutes. While playing, students often have to switch mutes in and out of their instrument to create sounds that the music calls for. Sometimes this switch happens quickly, and if students aren't prepared for it, they can fumble with their instruments and 1) drop something (instrument or a mute), or 2) miss their entrance in the music.

These mute holders will facilitate a professional environment for our students.

Jazz band, concert band, and symphonic band students will be able to store all the mutes they will need for a performance in an easy-to-reach spot.
