Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second graders are creative, energetic, and awesome! They have spent the last several months at home with family, and a transition back to school will bring with it mixed emotions. Some of us are excited to see our friends, explore a new classroom, and see what this year has in store. Some of us are also nervous, frustrated, and in need a calming space. This is where you come in...
My Project
These resources will help provide a safe space for my students to hit pause and recharge. They will be able to step away from a stressful situation or lesson and distract themselves with a fun puzzle, drawing project, silly pen or hat, book, or deep breath.
With your support my students will be able to develop their Social Emotional Awareness and begin to self-regulate their responses and actions.
While we are in distance learning, I will be able to share the books requested and model with students when and how to "take a break." When we return to the classroom, students will be able to apply the Social Emotional skills they are developing to situations at home as well. The learning they will gain with these resources will last a lifetime!
