Help me give my students an opportunity to return to school safely and successfully by providing fans to circulate classroom air, and enough supplies so that each student will always have their own.
My students come from wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some are not prepared with all of the necessary supplies and tools to help them gain the confidence that they can succeed, in fact because of the high percentage of our students who qualify for free and reduced lunch, our school has been awarded a grant that allows all students to eat for free. During this school year students and families face much more than the normal concerns, worries and anxiety that come along with a new school year. My goal is to help to restore a sense of normalcy and comfort within the classroom that will help give them the confidence that they can succeed no matter the circumstance. My students are motivated, grateful and eager and I am positive that, armed with the right tools, the sky is the limit!
My Project
Air circulation within the classroom will be more important this year than ever. Not only will the beginning of the school year come with its normal warm temperatures, students will also be dealing with that heat wearing masks. These fans will help with the safety and comfort of my students. Markers and white boards, as well as crayons, are used in my class daily. individual pencil sharpeners will allow students to limit hand-to-hand exposure and keep socially distanced by not going to the pencil sharpener.

With the necessary supplies and classroom features, students will be able to focus on academics rather than worrying about all of the unique circumstances that come along with the beginning of the school year in 2020.
