My Students
My students are an enthusiastic and fun group of typical English speakers, English Language Learners and Special Education Kindergarten students. My students are curious and eager about learning and for many it is their first experience in an educational setting. We are in a school with limited resources that serves a high poverty and transient population of families from many different countries. Many of my students' families do not have the means or resources at home to provide the educational practice needed to be successful.
My Project
My students spend a lot of time at our Reading Wall area. We gather there for lessons on all things reading. Our Reading wall is like a giant anchor chart and students can often be found sitting at it hot only during lessons but also during their writing time as the wall is a great help. Our library is there as well and students use this area to read quietly on their own.
I'm requesting a Fun With Phonics Rug for our classroom.
This week a pipe burst in our room ruining our rugs. I would love for my students to have a rug to comfortably access this important part of our classroom.
