My students from Newburgh Enlarged City School District come from a diverse community. Our school is a pre k - 5th school and has around 700 students, all who take Art. Each student has their own unique background that we try to model into our art projects as much as possible.
All students at our school are a part of the Leader in Me program, which gives children an opportunity to be leaders in their school and community.
Although Newburgh is a large city, the students here at our school are a great reflection of how close-knit our community is. They constantly organize projects to build each other up and encourage kindness in our school.
My students inspire me every day to work as hard as possible to meet their standards. Our students from grades Pre K- 5th come to school each morning with smiles and positive words to share. With them, our halls are filled with an uncanny amount of mature and diverse children who love to see each other succeed.
My students are used to having an area to gather before we begin our art class each day. This large rug will make sure that each and every student has a place to sit, observe, and create together.
This bright and colorful rug is the perfect addition to our art room, because it provides GAMS artists the opportunity to come together around their art.
Our art room has recently been upgraded to a larger space, so we have tons of area to fill up! A larger rug will allow for each student to have their own space, and no one will have to sit on the tile floor anymore.
Help us have a cozy spot to gather and share our artistic thoughts with this rainbow rug!
