This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Greetings from Los Angeles! I have an eager, enthusiastic, and bright group of 48 kindergarten students! My students are energetic and excited about school! They are in a Spanish Immersion program and spend half the school day learning in Spanish, and the other half of the day learning in English in my class. They love to read, tell stories, and count together. My students love to play, use puzzles, and collaborate. A new rug will help my students have more space to work together and learn and grow.

My Project

My kindergarten students would greatly benefit from a new classroom rug. We need a clean, bright, cozy place to gather, because we spend lots of time on the rug for whole group and small group lessons. My students use the rug to explore math manipulatives, to read books, and do puzzles. They love to spread out and work with others to solve problems. A new rug would be a wonderful place for my students to collaborate, learn, explore, and grow. We need a new classroom rug to brighten up our room and give my students a cozy, clean place to do their best work!
