My students are some of the most inquisitive, optimistic, enthusiastic, and eager learners that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Many come from homes that are far less than ideal, but are able to take their differing outside experiences and use those experiences to actually enhance their schooling. They know what it is like to do without, and come up with new ingenious ways to make the best out of everything that we do have.
My students, all from very diverse backgrounds, are able to come together to form our wonderful classroom community.
When someone is in need, there is always a group of fellow students waiting and willing to offer that needed helping hand. Often times, those with the least, seem to give the very most. My students are living proof of this every day!
My Project
Learning in classrooms is no longer the sit down silently at desks in straight rows while the teacher instructs from the front board teaching style of the past. Now it is interactive; it is fun, and it should be comfortable. That's where this project comes into play.
My students need a rug that is large enough to fit everyone.
A rug will help provide them with a comfortable place to grow both as learners and as people. A classroom rug promotes a classroom community by allowing for a more relaxed family type of setting. The rug will be used by the whole class during our daily morning meetings and also as alternative seating throughout the day.
