Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a beautiful reflection of the world we live in.
Our beautifully diverse student population is comprised of students from all backgrounds and ethnicities.
Our school focuses on building character, and our students show their character every day through acceptance of each other and lifting each other up. While English is not a native language for many of our students, they are always striving to learn and assist each other in learning. I am so excited to see the art they create this year!
My Project
The rug that is currently in our art room is covered in neon orange duct tape and has unfortunately, reached the end of its life. This summer, the art room is undergoing a makeover. The royal blue walls will become a light gray, allowing us to create bright modern art. The decor in our space will be transformed into design-oriented art.
Most of our students will never have the opportunity to visit inspiring and whimsical places such as the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and the Whitney Museum in DC.
In an effort to bring an inspiring environment to them, I have chosen this rug. This rug allows us to think outside the box by giving us the experiment of colors other than primary colors, shapes, and design elements.
Thank you for helping me with my goal of transforming our space into an artistic and creative learning environment!
