My students need new reading materials to update our classroom library! They want to read series like Harry Potter or A Wrinkle in Time, but we don't have the copies of complete series.
Our students are a very diverse group of students with all different kinds of talents, backgrounds, and interest. We have several students from other countries that speak more than one language or that speak little to no English. We have gifted students, students with learning disabilities, and students on the Autism spectrum. Each one is so special in their own way. Our students are each an individual and very unique puzzle piece that come together to make the most interesting picture.
My Project
My students want to read, but unfortunately many of our books are older and well worn. We may have some books from certain series or authors, but are unable to acquire more. I want the students to continue to thirst for good books and without a fresh supply they are beginning to lose interest.
Help my students travel to other places and expand their horizons with great books.
New books will refuel my students love of reading and will expand their vocabulary, interests, and so much more. Nothing is more important than books to help students grow and become life long learners.
