A Relaxing Room That Students Can Escape In

My Project

My classroom is made up of 3 high-intensity, special needs students. We have a 4th grade, a 6th grader, and a 7th grader that are all wonderful students, but just need extra time and attention to show how much they can flourish.

As our students are all on the Autism Spectrum, they have sensory needs that we want to meet.

The noise maker, oil diffuser, and changing light lamp are all to set a relaxing mood when they are overstimulated and need to have certain senses focused on. The chair is for alternative seating, either used as an incentive or a calm down space away from their desk. The broom is to help keep our room clean. The workbooks will be used to help guide group work and encourage social engagement as they all work on their occupational goals.
