Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The kindergarten students in my classroom are always willing to take on a challenge. They are motivated, loving, and hardworking! My school services low-income families that don't always have access or transportation to get their children to services they may need. As an educator, I want to try to bridge the gap during school times for my struggling readers to find new strategies to help improve their learning on a daily basis. The opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population. I love to inspire and challenge my students with high expectations to have them succeed. When you believe in your class others will follow your lead. Help me build confidence and knowledge in the 10 months they are in my class!
My Project
Teaching kindergarten for years I always try to find a new approach to teach my struggling students. This is a reading program that will help my students who don't have support at home learn to read with 15 minutes a day one on one support from me as an intervention.
Reading success is an important building block for future learning and academic success!
Working one on one with students will allow them to have the opportunity to learn without fear of making errors. This program can assist them by both teaching the letters and sounds as well as the various strategies used when reading. Help me create readers in my classroom.
