Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are first graders but they are want to learn it all! However, they are growing up in a low-income neighborhood in Houston and their families, many undocumented, are hardworking who are trying to make ends meet and are not capable to provide technology for them at their homes.

My students are eager learners when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.

My little learners have a hunger for learning that can be enhanced with the use of technology. The projector and interactive board will spark their interest in academic development, Science, literature, Math, Social Studies, Social Emotional Learning, technology and more. My 1st graders love to learn and to be introduced to new ideas and concepts. However, I teach at a low socioeconomic school where too many projectors were needed and my classroom has not been able to receive one.

English Language Learners and students with learning disabilities learn best when provided with learning opportunities rich in content and images.

English Language Learners who are introduced to content that are rich in images learn better and begin to find more enjoyment in learning. My students will love accessing learning content through various means. Using a projector will be a daily activity in my classroom, throughout the day. Cooperative and collaborative learning are always present in my classroom; using the projector will do much more than enhance teaching and learning; it allows students to access and view content instantly and in various ways.

Moreover, in this technology-literate world, the presence and use of updated technology will increase their literacy and desire to learn and use the new technology.
