We want to print stories!
We are a high poverty rural school in Michigan. My first graders love to write stories about animals, their families and about school!
A local business donated computers to our school, but we don't have printers. There is one printer for the building but it is really supposed to be used for teacher items only. Our teaching goal is to improve writing, and the children are really taking off. They are writing about their families, animals, and one little guy is writing about Nebula's! If they had the printers to use they could see how professional their work would look. With printers, reluctant writers will see the advantage of using a computer and printer to complete their work and will want to join the excitement.
I need 4 Hewlett-Packard Printers for my classroom. These printers will teach my students that computers and printers can be used for more than games! They will be able to write, edit, type, illustrate and publish their own work. They will have real pride and ownership of their hard work.
Your help will ensure that my students and students in the future will be able to publish their work, and learn more about what computers and printers can offer. I appreciate your consideration of this project, and thank you for helping teachers around the country get the supplies that they need.
