Teaching in an urban, low-income school district, my students come from an array of different backgrounds and each vary in their styles of learning. However, one thing that they all have in common is that each of them depends on school to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to prepare them for their future. I have been a promoter of Blended Learning in my classroom over the years and strive to promote an environment where students can showcase what they know in different ways. Having a printer in the classroom would be beneficial because it would allow students to print their projects and assignments for those who prefer to complete their work on the computer. A printer would also allow me to print materials for my students and the classroom.
"I am so proud of the way my students have taken ownership of their own learning and are eager to explore different paths to determine which best suits each of them as individuals.
My Project
I encourage my students to show what they know in different ways. Since they have access to Chromebooks in the classroom, the students have the option to complete assignments digitally. They are also assigned various projects throughout the school year, in which they need to produce a final presentation. With a printer in the classroom, the students would be able to print materials for projects and hard copies of their completed assignments to turn in. I can then display their work throughout the classroom to showcase all that they know. Please help to support my students in getting a printer for our classroom!
