My Students

Our students are an amazing group of kids! They are such a wonderful and talented and creative group this year. We have students who are working on honing their writing, reading and math skills. We work on everything from social skills to science to learning to follow school schedules to improving our mile times to movie-making. This dynamic classroom is always searching for better ways to make our learning fun, rewarding and creative as well as educational. The depth of emotion and knowledge our students achieve in inspiring and humbling. Thank you in advance for your support!

My Project

Having a color printer will help us make learning more exciting and clear. We have just successfully written a grant for Boardmaker, a program for students with special needs that has picture icons for vocabulary that can be used to create schedules, icons to help kids read. Other uses for this program are to help kids identify emotions and learn social skills. They are color coded and are more accessible to students when color is used. We need a color printer to maximize the potential for this project. We plan to use the program for creating communication books, individualized schedules, picture dictionaries and vocabulary lessons. We'll also print student writing in black and white.
