My Students
I co-teach a bilingual 1st grade class in Providence, RI. Our school serves students from an urban low socioeconomic background. The class is composed of twenty six students including several with special needs. There is a mixture of different learning styles and academic levels in our class.
Our students learn that they need to be organized to be ready to learn.
Having pencils and other tools in a pouch at their desks would be ideal to help create and environment that is conducive to learning. Please help our students be successful in school!
My Project
Over the years, We have tried different things to have writing tools for our students organized. Individual pencil cups and small baskets have not worked. Pencils always end up being misplaced or missing. Pencil pouches from the dollar store haven't last. We also tried plastic pencil boxes, but it was a disaster. Students shook them all day.
We would like to have these pouches that are durable with puncture resistant mesh.
They are made of good quality material. Noise will not be an issue since they are not plastic, and the zipper will help keep pencils securely inside the pouch.
