Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a self-contained special education program for children with social and emotional disorders and children with special needs.

My students work very hard!

Even faced with all their social, emotional, and developmental challenges, they are diligent workers. Our positive behavior system keeps them motivated to stay in school, be kind and give their best effort. They accumulate points for doing well and being good.

My Project

Once a child has earned enough points, he or she may visit the class store. Our students have been performing and behaving so well, that our budget can't keep up with the reward system! Additionally, it is difficult to incorporate our littlest ones from pre-kindergarten. We would like two Lakeshore rewards chests to keep in the pre-K classrooms that our 4 year-olds may visit. We are also asking for pencils for the older elementary kids.

Our school is special because it serves the children that have the most intense needs.

It is a challenge to provide them with the materials they need to succeed but with your help, they will have a positive start to the school year. Thank you!
