Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Second grade is such an exciting year. Most of my students start the year with at least one year of school under their belt, and many are already familiar with the school. They are excited to experience more in-depth learning, and to no longer be some of the youngest students at the school.
My students come from many races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses, but they are all part of the community that is our classroom.
They know that when they get to school each day, regardless of what is happening at home, they will be treated with respect. They all have a part in making our classroom a positive environment.
My Project
All of my students have a desire to have their own place in our classroom. They all have a desire to learn both in whole group and in small groups. The supplies from this project will give my students their own place to learn. On the carpet they will each have their own place to sit, and we will use the carpet many times throughout the day. At the table, the students will come in small groups to get individualized instruction that meets their needs, and helps them advance in their learning.
Donations to this project will directly impact each of my students' education.
There is already space in my classroom for these items, and they will be used many times everyday. My students are excited for the opportunity to pursue more whole group and small group learning.
