Help me give my students organizational skills as they learn how to take care of their school items, especially the headphones we received from Donors Choose, by placing them on Dual Balance Headset Stands.
Our students are 21st-century millennials who are learning how to be scholarly despite the hurdles they have to face: low socio-economic status, 91% free and reduced-price lunch, 97% English Learners, single parents, and rough neighborhoods.
In order to be college and career ready, my students need opportunities to grow in their critical thinking skills through technology, art, and physical movement.
In our classroom, students are learning how to incorporate technology, art, and presentations as culminating activities. As a school, we are educating the whole child to be physically active and make healthy choices.
Thanks to Donors Choose, our class got a class set of headphones with a mic. We are very thankful for our gift and enjoy using the microphones as we record our work on the computer or use them for testing. During the year, students are facing challenges with keeping them in their desk or cubby. The headphones are falling out of their desk and sometimes lost around the classroom.
Students follow routines very well and having a designated area and stands for the headphones will surely help the students stay organized.
Students will automatically know where to go to find their headphone, and thus, save time finding it in their desk. In an orderly fashion, after getting their laptop, they will go to the back table and get their assigned headphone. Plus, having a headphone station will allow me to add another job in the classroom. We are constantly learning how to stay organized and responsible for our belongings.
