This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We spent most of last school year building a raised bed garden. We tended it over the summer and have learned a lot about how things grow. Now we need a bench to sit on when we want to read outside, do projects, or just enjoy all our hard work.

My students are hardworking and industrious.

They really enjoyed designing and building their garden. They want a place to call their own where they can read, draw, or just day dream. The bench we are asking for will be installed in our garden so everyone can enjoy the view.

My Project

We need a new bench to mount in our garden. We will use it for reading, science and recess. We think a bench would make a great place to spend some time in the garden. We worked really hard to put our garden in and now we are enjoying the fruits of our labor.

This is important for my students because we like to be in the garden but sometimes it is wet or the grass is high and we don't want to sit on the ground.

It is also nice to have place to write when we are writing our nature poems.
