My Students

I work in an awesome city school! My students are a very diverse group of elementary and middle school students who love technology! My students come from an urban working-class neighborhood, and their families sacrifice a lot to help them in their education.

We have students from many different backgrounds who bring a wealth of culture and knowledge to our school.

My students come to my classroom wanting to learn the tools to make their impression on the world. I am so fortunate to be an educator in this community!

My Project

I am trying to build a maker space in some empty space I have in my computer lab. I am very excited for my students to be able to use new tools like robots and 3D printing, but right now there is no where to work except the floor. Because of the wiring and tight quarters at the computers, it is not practical to move the chairs back and forth. Students need their own place to build and experiment. Unfortunately the school has not been able to purchase chairs for some time, and classroom chairs are breaking down. These chairs will help us do countless STEAM projects in the lab!
