My students need a comfortable place to sit for circle time in our first grade classroom. We only have a tile floor, with no carpet. It will be used often!

My Students

Imagine coming to school on a cold and rainy day and being asked to sit on a tile floor to learn math and reading. That is what the students in my first grade classroom are facing this next year without a carpet in the classroom to sit on. They will greatly appreciate a comfortable place to sit.

My students are the best!

They come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, mainly on the lower end of it. They come to school everyday eager to learn, no matter what! They truly care for each other. They are also great at working together and learning together. I have the privilege of teaching them for a second year in a row, I taught them in Kindergarten! They are extremely creative and love to sit on the floor to work on their various projects.

My Project

We are asking for a large floor carpet for our classroom because we don't have any carpet at all on our floor. The floor is all tile, and can be very uncomfortable. The students will use this carpet everyday! We will have our class reading time, our math time and other group times all on this carpet. It will not go unused!

If we were able to get this carpet, the students will be able to sit comfortably on the floor while they are learning.

It will also add to their learning, being that it has the map of the United States on it. We can use this carpet not only to sit on but to also practice the states.
