My Students

I would like the young children in my classroom to develop physical, social/emotional, and cognitive skills through meaningful play. Young children learn best when given opportunities to actively explore and participate in hands-on, full body experiences.

The children enrolled in our preschool program come to school with various experiences and developmental abilities.

They are a busy bunch of learners; anyone visiting our classroom can feel the energy from all the activity and learning occurring. The children engage in motor play, construction, pretend play, stories and songs, writing and art, and sensory experiences.

My Project

The large rug will serve multiple purposes. It will be a place for children to move about and independently explore books, blocks and puzzles. Children can use this area for large motor activities, reading books, working puzzles, and building with blocks.

This space will also serve as our whole group gathering area.

With the soothing color scheme and clearly marked individual spaces, children will be comfortable and will understand the space they can occupy while participating in shared reading and writing experiences, as well as songs, rhymes, and movement activities. There will be room for children to also complete activities with partners and small groups.
