A Place for Everything...and Everything In Its Place!
My students need organization- especially for small things like our math manipulatives!
This project expired on August 17, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My kindergartners are the best! Each day is a new and exciting opportunity to explore and learn with them. With such a wide range of student ability levels, I am constantly refreshing activities and materials in the classroom to make sure that each student has what they need to achieve their learning potential.
Hurricane Harvey dealt us a HUGE blow by destroying our schools and community.
Even though we lost a large percentage of classroom items, we are working hard to replace and rebuild. With all the BIG changes we've had this year, I have learned that these kids are so resilient!
After losing most of my math manipulatives in the flood after Hurricane Harvey, we have slowly been rebuilding that collection. Manipulatives that we use might include: colored square tiles, tiny animals, bugs, linking cubes, dominoes, etc. We use these for many tasks like counting, sorting, adding/subtracting and comparing numbers as well as free play.
Kindergartners learn best by hands-on activities-and now that we have some of these items, we need somewhere to keep them organized and easily accessible to the students!
The tubs in this cubby are just the right size for individual use and the colors are great for grouping. In a Kindergarten classroom, even a little bit of "easy" is appreciated!
