As I move from Kindergarten to teaching first grade, I will have the wonderful experience of having many of my students from last year in my new class. They are amazing, amusing, enthusiastic learners who come to school every day ready to give it their all. I am so proud of all they accomplished last year, both socially/emotionally and academically and I can't wait to see them get started on another exciting and fulfilling year of learning, friendship and fun.
I am most excited about helping my students to build on the ELA skills they acquired last year, so that they will all become stronger and more successful readers.
Reading has always been my passion, and I want it to be theirs too!
My Project
In a classroom that has many students (25+) and little extra room, having easily-accessible, space-friendly student storage is a key to successful learning. Plastic bins for students' papers, folders, etc. have not been the ideal solution, as they tip over easily, causing my students to waste valuable time picking up their scattered supplies; they also make it difficult to maneuver safely between the desks. A full set of student storage bags that fit over the backs of their chairs would be a most welcome, attractive and appreciated gift for my hard-working students and would serve our classroom needs for many years.
