I teach kindergarten in a public school classroom. I have 21 precious 5-6 year olds in my classroom. Our school has a total of 160 kinders altogether split among 7 teachers. Our school has a strong sense of community where teachers know most of families of their children and communicate often. My students are curious and creative. They are eager to face "hard things" which we have learned to call challenges.
They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.
My students LOVE doing Reading Stations and Math Stations! It's a time when they can work independently or in a group and be responsible to show what they know! Some of our stations aren't confined to a table and they require the students to walk around the room or work on the carpet. Clipboards will make working around the room much easier! We are lucky to have 2 iPads in our class, however we don't have the cords to keep them charged and accessible for the kids.
A charging station will allow the kids to get their own supplies for stations and put them back when they are finished.
After using some of the same storage bins for our station work for 3 years, they have starting to crack and break. We would love to have a new storage cart that will store our station bins.
