My students represent diversity in and outside of our schools. We are a kindergarten through second grade class in South Central Los Angeles. I would love to have the resources to show my my students that they to are represented in literature, toys, and art.
My students are hard workers who enjoy learning, they will be so excited to see themselves in our library and art supplies all while having a space in which we can sit and enjoy said materials.
They are an incredible group!
Students not only need to see themselves in the books they read but they should also be able to to see themselves in the toys with which they play with and the materials they use in class.
The materials will be used to help my students have a space in which they can cultivate their love for reading while learning about themselves and others.
It is also important that students have the materials they need to create artistically and be able to express themselves though their art. Students also need a space in which we can sit and enjoy their learning materials.
